That sounds like it could be really fun…. but it says: “You are not geeky enough to hang out with geeky girls for a day?”

How do we define Geeky here at She’s Geeky?

Well there is “the obvious.” You code, you have  linux system you installed yourself, you have a degree in a technical field, your day job is at a technology company doing something technical. This conference is for these kinds of women AND…we are deeply committed here to step beyond these definitions to include all women who are geeky or aspire to deepen their geekiness.

If you are passionate about technology in some way that goes deeper then it “just being a job”, you are geeky about it – even a little bit, you qualify.

• You work in finance or advertising or media and part of your job involves a computers or other techonlogies and you really love it
• You are in a marketing capacity but are super passionate about the techonlogies you work with (it is more then a job for you)
• You are a blogger & are teaching yourself how to program in PHP to customize the sidebar of your blog
• You are the accidental techie in your office or at your nonprofit or in a community group you help facilitate

If this sounds a bit like you  – YOU ARE GEEKY ENOUGH!

At the first She’s Geeky Conference more then half the women had liberal arts degrees.

Please step over the voice in your head that says “I’m not Geeky enough” and come anyways. You won’t regret it – it will be fun.

Update: The invitation party will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the large conference room at Six Apart in San Francisco. The address is 548 Fourth Street. Ginger Tulley will let you in. Please email info@shesgeeky.org. if you are planning to attend, as space is limited.

We will be holding an invitation party on Saturday November 15, 2008 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  The location will be somewhere in downtown San Francisco. We will post specifics as soon as possible.
